A large list is useless if you are sending the wrong offer to the wrong people. SendOnyx provides a powerful Segment Selection engine at the very start of your campaign creation. This allows you to include specific high-value groups or exclude segments that shouldn’t receive a particular message.
Step 1: Selecting Your Primary List
When you start a new campaign, your first task is to select the core list.

- Use the “To which list shall we send?” dropdown to select your main database or a specific group of subscribers.
Pro Tip: Refining with “Send to Segment” (Include)
If you don’t want to email the entire list, start typing the name of a pre-created segment (e.g., “Active Openers”). Only subscribers who are on your primary list AND belong to that segment will receive the email. If you leave this blank, the campaign targets everyone active on the selected list.
Step 2: Protecting Your Audience with “Exclude Segment”
This is the “Secret Sauce” of professional deliverability. The Exclude Segment feature allows you to ensure specific people never see this broadcast, even if they are on the primary list.
Common Use Cases for Exclusions:
• Recent Buyers: Exclude people who already bought to avoid annoying them.
• Support Tickets: Exclude people in active support threads to maintain brand image.
• High-Frequency Resends: Exclude everyone who has already clicked a link to focus only on those who haven’t taken action.
Important Logic Rules
Dynamic Updating: The system checks segment status at the exact moment of sending.
Exclusion Priority: If a subscriber is in both the Include and Exclude fields, the Exclusion will take priority. They will NOT receive the email.
