Your Lists

The Lists page is where your data lives. Unlike other platforms that charge you for duplicate contacts across different lists, SendOnyx is designed to be efficient, transparent, and protective of your sender reputation.

1. Understanding the List View

On this page, you’ll see a high-level overview of every segment you’ve created or imported. Each list shows:

  • Subscriber Count: Total number of people in that specific list.
  • Open/Click Rate (Avg): The historical performance of this specific group.
  • Created Date: Keep track of how “fresh” your data is.

2. The “Soft-Delete” Logic (Data Integrity)

One of the most powerful features of SendOnyx is how we handle list management.

  • What happens if I delete a list? If you delete a list, the system uses Soft-delete logic (Task 16).
  • Why? We do this to protect your reports. Even if the list is removed from your audience view, your past campaign stats remain accurate. The system takes a “snapshot” of the data at the time of sending, so your history is never wiped out.

3. Importing and Cleaning

When you click into a list or create a new one, you have several options:

  • CSV Import: Upload your subscribers. Remember, every import is checked against your Global Blacklist automatically.
  • Copy/Paste: Ideal for small batches of test emails.
  • Suppression: You can use one list to “clean” another, ensuring you aren’t sending the same offer to people who already bought.

4. List Hygiene & Maintenance

To keep your deliverability at Apex levels, we recommend the following:

  • Remove Inactive: Use the “Segment” tool to find subscribers who haven’t opened an email in 90 days.
  • Check for “Phantoms”: Our system automatically filters out “Phantom” or ghost templates (Task 6) to ensure that your opt-in forms always look exactly how you designed them.
  • Duplicate Handling: SendOnyx identifies duplicate emails globally. You can have a subscriber in multiple lists for an organization, but we ensure they only count once toward your account health.

Pro Tip: The “Campaign Connection”

Before you delete a list, check the Recent Campaigns card on your dashboard. If a list is currently part of an active Automation or a scheduled Broadcast, the system will warn you. Thanks to our snapshot technology, your reports will stay intact, but the active sending will stop.

Summary Checklist:

  • [ ] Categorize lists by lead source (e.g., “Facebook Ads”, “Solo Ads”).
  • [ ] Periodically delete old, inactive lists (your stats stay safe!).
  • [ ] Ensure your list names are clear for easy selection during Campaign Setup.
